I’ve made a couple dozen planters like your #5. After the first eight I added feet so there was a 2 inch air space between the box bottom and the deck it sat on. Without the feet water dripping rotted the deck even though it was treated lumber. The airspace lets the deck dry. Your five designs are elegant and simple to build. Thanks for the time you put into making the video.

If you live in a humid climate like I do, be sure to use outdoor-rated glue, and stainless steel screws. Also good idea to leave gaps between the boards for expansion. It can also help to dip the ends of the feet in epoxy or one of the purpose-made sealers/hardeners to help prevent them from soaking up water from the ground/bricks/etc.

That is some incredibly straight, smooth, not bowed, not bent, thick pallet wood you got there lol.
I am a beginner to woodwork, the main test I have with this bundle https://www.youtube.com/post/UgkxkNYRBJuiJ6EwD-tQSAlxg0eFKsnR2cgz is that I think that its hard to settle on a choice of the plan and outline to use as there are a large portion of them there. Nonetheless, I like the simple stride to step directions laid out there.
Love your channel. You restore old machines, make your own tools, holders and stuff this is what people need not 100 grand worth of machines like some people do and say oh look this is easy. You show what its like for most people aquiring stuff along the way. Keep up the good work mate.

Soo, last year I replaced a lot of wood on my deck, like 90% of it. Some pieces rotted, some just looking old, etc. Being who I am I didn’t throw out any of the old wood. This spring my wife asked me if I could make her some planter boxes. Light bulb went off and I started wondering if the old wood from the deck I replaced last year could be used. Wifey told me about what size planter boxes she wanted. I spent about 2 days cutting up and trimming all the old wood. Let me tell you there is a lot of wood. I could probably make like 20 planter boxes. I wanted to get some ideas on how to make them and here I am. I’m super excited with your design ideas. Easy, cheap, and fast only if you already own all those tools. This is professional DIY and not for everyone who just owns a drill.
