How do you make sure you’re not bringing in bugs with your collected forest foliage?
I am in love with that adorable birch wood cabin. I must say it’s one of the most adorable projects I have ever seen.
I love forging natural elements of wood, rocks and sticks from around the woods.

All of these are just fantastic!!! I sometimes pick up things when walking and try to incorporate them into my decor. My most favorite piece you made is the cabin. It is beautiful!! Oh my Donna that cabin is absolutely beautiful! No wonder it’s your favorite piece you’ve ever made! This is the very very best house iv seen using those house plaques and iv watched loads of different diys with them! I wish I could go out forriging like you do, but I’m in chronic pain all through my body so can’t go out and do these things anymore. Although I do craft when the pain is bearable as it takes away how I feel! Sorry to go on Donna I didn’t mean to! 😬

WOW everything is absolutely GORGEOUS, but the little house with the dresser is AMAZING! You are a real artist !
🌲ATTENTION🌲: Info about collecting the bark and the care of it once home.
I collect the bark from the ground, I NEVER remove it off the living trees. I apologize if I didn’t mention that.
Once home I allow the bark to dry outside away from the elements such as rain I clean it off if necessary outside. At this point you can use a safe insecticide, as suggested by a viewer, to rid of any bugs or thier nests (same can be done for branches and fresh greens if need be). You can also place bark in oven on low heat to kill off bugs and mold spores that may be present. Please keep a close eye so the bark doesn’t burn!!!
I myself clean and cure my bark outside for awhile before I use it, and continue to dry it out inside in my dry basement if needed I would suggest that if you are concerned about bugs etc, then definitely do as mentioned earlier 😉 Hope this helps.
