This was a great set of tips. I was a professional scenic carpenter for many years and I even took something away from it. There are superglue sculptures in my future…
Thank you so much finally an explanation about Mineral spirits. Love these tip videos you must do more
This is the best shop tips compilation I’ve seen! When I was a kid, girls weren’t allowed to take shop class. I’ve had to figure out so much through trial and error. Having someone show you how to do even the easy stuff makes such a difference. Say, if you ever make another video like this, I really suck at getting measurements right for fitting angle cuts together with any semblance of precision; as in picture frames and butting trim into a corner. It’s also a struggle to figure out any angle for anything other than 45 degree. But I bet that’s easy with the right tool. lol
Great tips, Adam. I haven’t used that glue with the activator but I always wanted to try it. I’m definitely going to try the baking soda trick!
I used the ca glue and activator to fix a 1” hole in my trailer light housing. It worked really well and is still holding up really well.
If you’re drilling a horizontal hole. You can put a ring on the drill bit and it should stay in place if your level. If you’re off it’ll slide forward or backwards
Adam, these tips are definitely useful timesavers. I’m sending this to my grandson, who can usually do just about anything, but he may even discover something new from this video. Thanks! ~Margie
for the irwin clamp, I’m pretty sure it has the same design as my dewalt clamps where you just put the end piece on the other side of the bar to make it a spreader
Great tips. My carpenter husband gets so mad when I know all these neat tips, I love it!
Just an “X” on the waste side of the line is usually enough for me. Plus I typically don’t want to leave a huge mark that I’ll have to remove from the next piece I cut. 😉
New woodworker here. Your tricks are super helpful. I appreciate watching you. I especially enjoy the “training with comic relief.” You are clearly knowledgeable and someone I can learn from but you’re humble about it. Thanks!
You don’t need the activator when you use CA glue with baking soda, you’ll have a much better result using the thinnest CA you kind find (when using with baking soda) cheers
Great video, bringing things back to the basics is always helpful. Thanks for sharing that wisdom gained. Going to be checking out the sponsor too, thanks for the link.
