10 DIY Summer Cottage Home Decor Ideas and Thrift Flips

DIY!!

In this video, I make a modern terrarium using a thrifted vase and wood salad bowl, turn a rag rug into a wall pocket capable of holding water and real flowers, use woven placemats to create flower wall decor and indoor/outdoor pillows, add cottage charm to a rusty work bench by turning it into a planter, add butterflies and botanical transfers to old cabinet door panels for one of a kind wall decor, turn a broken down $5 Goodwill table into a cottage style entry table, repurpose a wooden cookie jar into a rustic planter, repurpose a $1 electric light fixture into a hanging shelf, and create buggy catch-all trays from dollar items.

Good morning, Sherry! Happy Summer 🌞! You have the best luck at the thrift stores! Everything turned out stunning, as always. The stool and entry table transformations are gorgeous. Thank you for inspiring, Bobbie. 🌻

It never fails; every time I think that I should let some of my “old” stuff go, you come up with an inspiration that would give them a brand new look. Loved all of the projects but the old work stool is my favorite conversion this week.

Sheri, you never cease to amaze me with your unique ideas of what to do with a thrifted piece or a good buy. I can’t decide which one I like best—the stool with the faux greenery or the entry table with the IOD transfer, but I love everything you did! Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to next Tuesday already.

Love, love, love the piece of furniture with the IOD transfers, so very pretty. And the “bug” trays are inspired. Thanks so much for sharing. ♥️

I loved every one of these projects. That cabinet is adorable!! I really like the lantern shelf too and I think it looks great either way. 🌺💕

What a great way to start my day! My favorite was the floral entryway Table. Love, love, love. I like both of the hanging lantern shelf displays but I think the cloche is the best.

Once again, it is almost impossible to pick just ONE favorite! I think my top three are the stool, the butterfly set and the old roses on the wicker-like mats/chargers…but, truly, they are all KEEPERS! You always give me the best ideas to do with things already in my stash and that is such a blessing! You create creativity with every video and that is rare. Sherry, you are a GEM!✨✨

The rag rug wall pocket with the Queen Anne’s Lace is so pretty on your door! I also love how you painted and distressed the knobs on that cupboard.

The darling entry cabinet and the work stool were my absolute favorites. Yet, I enjoyed watching you transform each of your GW finds. What you did with the lantern was also unique. Sherry, you truly have an eye for transforming inexpensive finds into one of a kind treasure. ⚘
